Taking cue from one of my fellow bloggers and best friend, I have decided to post a weekly update every Monday. :) Just for those few that may be interested in what has happened in my crazy, yet mundane life during the week. :)
Last week Mike was TDY to Eglin AFB, located in Niceville, FL. Its over an hour away, and with his class starting at 0700 and ending at 1700 (that's 7am to 5pm for you silly-vilians) he decided to stay in quarters on base. This meant I had to take care of 2 kids by myself around the clock! I know people have done it and have succeeded, but I was freaking out a bit. :P Turns out that Mike missed us so much that he ended up coming home 3 out of the 5 days and drove back after baths and bedtime. :) What a great hubby. ;)
Because I thought I was going to be without Mike for 5 days, I decided to plan something for all 5 days, to get the kids out of the house. Monday, Wednesday, & Friday, I worked out while I dropped them off in childcare. It was a nice and much needed hour away from the boys. I love them to pieces but 24/7 with them is enough to make a person go crazy. Tuesday and Thursday I took the boys to Gymboree for Noah's play & learn class. We've been attending this particular Gymboree off and on since we moved here last year and Noah loves it. This will probably be the last month we'll attend until next summer because Noah starts school in 2 weeks, so we're attending as much as time allows us to.
Tuesday was a little unnerving at Gymboree. An aggressive little 3 year old girl decided to make it "pick on Caleb day" and was being really rough with him while he was sitting in his infant carrier. To make a long story short, she ended up kicking him and grabbing his face and her mother said absolutely nothing about it. No reprimands, nothing. Its people like that who should rethink having children. :P I know if MY child did something like that to a baby (or anyone for that matter!) it would seriously be a whoop-a-thon with a capital W.
Wednesday was the first time I took the boys to Target by myself. I'll spare you the details since I've already chronicled them in my post "OMG Never Again!" Feel free to take read it at your leisure. ;)
The rest of the week was pretty downhill from there. It actually went by really fast. Mike was home early Friday and we did our traditional Mexican late lunch/early dinner, then roamed around Target for a little while.
Saturday was supposed to be a Gymboree day but the teacher who was leading the early class didn't have a key to get into the place! They have some new teachers for the fall and keys were passed around and one never ended up in Miss Brittany's hands, so class was cancelled. The mall that the Gymboree is located in sucks so we left and walked around a furniture store for a bit. I'm in the market for a new sofa and loveseat because the ones we have are pretty much done after this tour. The kids were acting up in the furniture store so we left...quickly.
Sunday is our grocery shopping day and we did it at Sam's Club this week. Stocked up on quite a few things and ended up spending a small fortune. :P Also, I noticed Caleb was acting differently. He napped during the entire Sam's trip, ate when we got home and continued to nap until 5:30PM! When he woke up, I bathed him, fed him, and played with him for a while and by 7PM he was ready for bed! Then last night he was an absolute BEAR, waking up every 1-2 hours completely ravenous! This morning I did some googling and looks to me like he's going through his 3 month growth spurt. He's actually been sleeping alot today so far too...
Anyway, that was my week. Exciting huh?
