I am exhausted. I feel like I've been hit by a mack truck. I know its hormones...Aunt Flo paid me a visit this morning, right before I went on my run. Lovely. I managed to pump out 2.5 miles again, but since then I have felt completely drained. Noah's been a royal...sweetheart (insert sarcasm here), so I postponed tonight's movie date...I told him maybe tomorrow. We shall see.
Running stats: 2.5 miles, 30 minutes, 301 calories burned. My run felt awesome, despite AF. I do think I am finally BACK, as far as running goes. Hopefully from here I can build mileage and speed...I'd like to run a 9-10 minute mile eventually; right now I do a 12 minute mile.
P90X stats: You know, honestly, I don't like it. :P Its not fun enough to keep my attention for an HOUR; I feel like I get more of a workout from Jillian's 30 Day Shred. I think I'm going to put P90X on the backburner for now. I just think there are so many fun things to do for exercise, why do something you don't like?! I'm going to start using Turbo Sculpt from my Turbo Jam dvd set and I'm also going to look into Jari Love's Get Ripped & Chisled. Those seem much more up my alley.
Alrighty folks, my Babydaddy & I have decided to make tonight a Twilight night, so we're going to get these kids in bed ASAP! Have a good Friday everyone! :)

Tuesday's workouts.
I ended up going to the gym to run this morning even though I knew I was going to do the P90X Plyometrics workout at night because...to be honest...sometimes I just want to drop the boys off at the daycare and have some time to myself, even if it is while pounding away on the treadmill! Hey, a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do, right?
I did a quick 2 miles and burned 300 calories. It was nice doing a "long" run again, as opposed to the intervals I was doing last week.
Tonight I fought tooth and nail with Mike to NOT do the Plyometrics workout, arguing that it was ok to skip because we had both run earlier in the day...yeah...no. He made me do it. :P And boy, was it tough! Plyometrics involves a lot of jumping...it got my heart rate up and I broke a nice sweat...I also burned a cool 365 calories! Niiiice. P90X has redeemed itself...I'll continue with the strength training tomorrow night...
Alrighty folks...I'm going to get off this computer and get to bed! Its been a pretty productive and busy day!
The P90X Challenge...Bring It.
Ok, so Mike and I have had the P90X dvd set for almost 2 years...yes TWO years, and we had yet to start it...until last night. We decided June 1st would be the Day 1 of P90X and June 2nd would be Day 1 of our "lifetsyle change."
Mike and I have always been gym rats...when we first got "real" jobs and when we were first married, we'd get home from a long day's work and head over to the gym. On Friday nights, before going out, we'd make sure we hit the gym first. Working out was the easy part for us. Diet was another story. Poor diet and 2 pregnancies got ME to where I am now: a big, fat piece of blubber. :P
Anyway, we did P90X for the first time last night and I had mixed feelings about it. It was hard...very challenging. A lot of push-ups and pull-ups (which I simulated with free weights...I need to attach my resistance bands to the door for future workouts) BUT I only burned 175 calories in an hour. That was disappointing for me. After thinking about it though, the program is set up as separate strength and cardio days, and the workout we did last night (chest & back) was purely strength training. Sooooo, I haven't lost all hope. Tonight is the Plyometrics workout, described as an "explosive jumping cardio routine proven to dramatically improve athletic performance." I'm sure that one will kick my bootay. I'm not even sure if I should go for a run today...we shall see.
Now, as for our lifestyle change...we decided that working out as much as we do is pointless if we continue to fill our bodies with junk. We hit up Publix, a regional supermarket chain exclusive to the South, that is probably the closest thing we have to Trader Joes or Whole Foods. We bought oats, Greek yogurt, granola, fresh fruit (soooo much more fresh than Walmart!), etc. They also had some items I was looking for: almond butter and almond milk, so I was quite excited. I've been reading up on the Eat-Clean Diet, and I would slowly like to move toward that. Soooo...we're really going to try this. We'll see how it goes...
