I'm a run-walker.

I've never been a runner. Not that I've hated it or anything...I just couldn't do it. In elementary school, when we did the presidential fitness testing, I was always one of the last ones to finish the mile run, and it always took me like 20 minutes or something ridiculous like that.

Even now, as an adult, I'm slow, and I have no stamina. I think the last time I actually ran a full mile without stopping was in 2004 when I was doing the Couch to 5K program. I've always just been a run-walker.

But now that I've signed up for a 5K in May, its time to get serious. I got some encouragement from a friend who will remain nameless [S.D. ;) ] and I got on the treadmill this week...I blasted the volume on my ipod and repeated the mantra "Run through the pain, run through the pain" and lo and behold, I did my mile! I DID MY MILE!!! Granted, I did it in 14:48 but I did it nonetheless. It felt great.
