Me & my buddies...and a soapbox moment.

So its been just me and my buddies all week thus far. :) Like I blogged earlier, Babydaddy has got this huge conference and tons of the higher-ups have come to visit our sleepy little town, so BD has been quite busy working 14-16 hour days. His day starts at 4:30AM and he doesn't get home until about 8:30-9:00PM! This conference happens every year, so with this being our 3rd one, I'm pretty used to the routine by now. I get myself in the mindset that it'll be pretty much me for the entire week, plan lots of stuff to do to keep busy, and things actually go pretty smoothly.

So far this week, we've done the Mommy gym thing, the pool, and Gymboree. I even made it to Target to get some essentials (babywipes, diapers), and I've managed to stick to naptimes and bedtimes pretty well. To be honest, I think I am better with schedules and up-keep while BD is OUT of the house, but shhhh, don't tell anyone. ;)

My Monday gym workout consisted of a 2-ish mile run and a 1 mile walk on a 2% incline...I burned a whopping 441 calories in 40 minutes! Me likey! I'll hit the gym again today and probably do a similar workout...still need to find the energy to do a Jillian workout. We'll see.

In bloggy news, I've entered my first giveaway! Julia's got some fun stuff to give away...check out her blog: Jogging My Memory. :)

In my quest to eat healthier I have found a new snack fave:
banana & pb! can we say YUM-O?!

I just wanted to include some pics of my babies...they bring me so much joy (and yes they make me want to pull my hair out too!)...I have never waivered on my choice to stay home with them; I feel sooooo extremely blessed that I am able to experience every single precious moment. I've been coming across a lot of debate between working moms and stay at home moms, and I can only speak for myself: I am happy to stay home with my babies and while I do possess a graduate degree, I don't feel that I am not "using" my degree. I feel that everything I have learned in my years of schooling has helped me to make smart choices when it comes to my kids; the knowledge I have gained while attaining my degrees has helped me in my everyday life with my kids. I am confident that staying home with them is what's best for me and my family, and I don't feel as if I'm missing out on anything; like I said earlier...I am so blessed. Extremely blessed. :)
Caleb in the AM...his new thing is climbing onto the couch. :)

My handsome 3 year old.

After naptime, its milk & cookies time in the P house! :)
LOL...just up from a nap.
Smile!
Mommy was messing with her camera settings...

Have a good day everyone!!! :)

love the pix! I admire you stay-at-home moms! If I had to do it over again, I would have done the same. Hopefully one day, when the economy is better, I can join you! Enjoy your beautiful babies and keep up the good work....dang girl 400 calories?! very nice!
