As I mentioned earlier today, today is Day 1 of our healthy diet/lifestyle change...I'd like to eventually eat a mostly clean diet, but for now I'm taking baby steps in that direction. I didn't eat a TON before; I actually tended to skip meals (a big no-no for your metabolism) and when I did eat, most of what I ate was high in sodium and high in fat. Sooooo, Mike & I decided to change and try to eat 95% of our meals at home (we tend to eat out/take out 3-4 times a week) and eat fresh, natural, non-prepackaged meals. Take a look at what I ate today...
For breakfast, I had 1/2 cup of oats (non-instant), a tbsp of peanut butter, and 4 stawberries...along with my yummo coffee.
Lunch was turkey on 2 pieces of whole wheat w/lettuce, tomato, mayo; string cheese, 2 tbsp of spinach/artichoke dip, a couple tortilla chips, and canteloupe (not pictured).
Here's a pic of Noah's lunch. :) Caleb had chicken & milk. :)
Afternoon snack was 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup cocoa granola, & 3 strawberries. My AM snack was a Clif bar before I worked out.
Dinner was chicken tacos. Not necessarily the healthiest meal, but like I said, baby steps! :)
So not too shabby. Its actually a challenge eating 5-6 meals a day, but it helps me from binging later on in the day. Mike did well too...he packed his lunch with a hodge podge of things: almonds, yogurt, pb&j, turkey sandwich, etc. He ate it all except the yogurt...he was teaching and couldn't fit a snack in. But overall, pretty darn good. :)
