So I have been enjoying shopping more now that I am feeling a bit better about my body. Although it is still a "work in progress" (I love this saying), I feel stronger and more powerful and not ashamed to dress it in clothing that is not of the elastic or gym variety.
I noticed this weekend that I really have nothing to wear for the warmer months, and what I do have is ill-fitting or out of date. I have this shirt that is my "go-to" shirt that my oh so wonderful and generous GF gave to me when she decided to get skinny (hello KCB!)...its a black and white, scoop neck roomy blouse from H&M...I loved it when I was fatter because it covered up my blubber well and I love it now because although its loose and "airy" its not OVERLY huge and doesn't look like a maternity shirt like my other pieces of clothing. Anyhow, I wore it on Sunday and Mike and I decided it has seen better days and it was time to retire the fat girl shirt.
Soooo...that meant we had to go shopping. I used to love clothing shopping. When I was a 2 and everything looked great, shopping was fun. In the more recent years, shopping has sucked. We would go to the outlets and I would stick to purses...purses always fit, no matter what size I was. But this visit to the outlet was different...I was on a mission to purchase some nicer items that didn't break the bank because I knew I wasn't going to be able to wear these items for long. We hit up Jcrew (Hubby's favorite store) and I usually lolly-gag with the kids while Mike looks around. On this particular visit, they were having a pretty good sale so I decided to pick up some of their basic tees in something other than basic black. I got a yellow and a teal color...I also eyed the clearance racks and spied their bubble tissue tanks. I knew I had to have some! I picked up 2 (in slate and parsley) and I am in LOOOOOOVE! They are soooooooo cute! I want more! :)
So, if you're browsing online, or are lucky enough to find one in their stores, pick 'em up...so cute and so flattering...and hello, stylish! :)
