And jinxed myself! I knew things were too good to be true when my Monday went so marvelously. HMPH. I woke up bright and early on Tuesday, ready to take on the day; got showered, dressed, got breakfast for the kiddos. I even got a green monster ready for Babydaddy to take to work, and even read some Harry Potter when I decided to get the kids ready to take Noah to his last day of MDO.
I did as I always did: told Noah to go potty and to meet me in Caleb's bedroom afterwards while I got him dressed. I sat Caleb down on his changing table like I usually do, kept one hand on him while I searched his dresser for some shorts for him to wear. Usually as I do this, he likes to pull on the window blinds, which drives me nuts because he's broken them already. I looked up and saw he was doing this again and that he broke the blinds even further. I pulled his hand away from the blinds...he had a vice-grip on them so I had to pull his hand a little harder and while I did this, I scolded him for breaking the blinds again. I was about to pull his shirt over his head when I noticed that he had blood oh his left thigh. ALOT of blood. At first I was confused...why did he have blood on his thigh? Then I looked at his hand and saw that blood was gushing from somewhere on his left hand...I couldn't figure out where exactly, all I knew was there was a LOT of blood...I was freaking out because he was soaking through tons of babywipes (the closest thing I had to stop the blood) and I couldn't get the blood to stop. Finally I called Babydaddy at work, told him we were going to the ER (thankfully less than 3 minutes from our house) and he said he'd meet us there.
The blood slowed down considerably when we got to the ER and it turned out it was like a papercut x 10 and luckily didn't require stitches. They just cleaned him up, applied some kind of ointment and tried to put bandages on him. We came home and he bled out 3-4 times afterwards, but it was easier to control the flow each time. Today we haven't had any bleeding incidents but the cut looks painful. :(
Augh. I swear Caleb is going to be the kid that is in the ER monthly. Not that I wish for that or anything, he is just so rough and tumble and into everything! He about gave me a heart attack yesterday. :P
Oh, and Noah never did make it to his last day of MDO. :P
