Marvelous Monday & My First GREEN MONSTER!

Happy Monday folks! I typically loathe Mondays...the weekend is just too short! But today, the kids were being awesome, I got my sweat session in, and Babydaddy came home early from work so it turned out to be a pretty good day. :) Plus, getting that Monday workout is crucial to my overall positive outlook for the week. All in all, today was a Marvelous Monday!

We had a rough weekend with naptime for Caleb this weekend. He ended up skipping his PM nap on Saturday, which led him to skip his AM nap on Sunday...its funny because the LESS sleep he gets during the day, the MORE erratic his sleep becomes in the coming days, so I always stress out when he doesn't get a good nap. Anyway I thought he was going to give me a hard time today, but he ended up going down perfectly in the AM and ended up napping for TWO hours! His PM nap was also substantial, so we may be in the clear. The last time he had interrupted naps, he didn't get back on schedule for almost 2 weeks. Sigh.

We went to the gym in the morning after Caleb's AM nap and I had a pretty good workout. 40 minutes of cardio: 2 mile run and 1.5 miles on the elliptical = 464 calories burned. I felt like I worked pretty hard this morning and my body is definitely feeling it! I love me some sweat though...sweat is awesome. :)

This afternoon we hit up Publix and got some stuff for the week, including the ingredients for GREEN MONSTERS! :) All the authors of the blogs I follow swear by these things, so I had to try it. Apparently, Angela of Oh She Glows started his phenomenon and has had such a response that she's had to open up an entirely different site just for answers and inquiries about the green montsters. :) I got my recipe from the Green Monster Movement ...I used the Virgin Green Monster recipe and added peanut butter.

I must admit, I was scared to try it. I mean its green, for crying out loud! But I was pleasantly surprised! It was refreshing and delish...Babydaddy and even Noah liked it! :) (I put some in a red cup for him, as you can see above). This will definitely become a staple in our diets. :)

Ok peeps...I'm going to curl up in bed and read the rest of HP #1, then move right on to HP #2! :) Good night ya'll!

i've been drooling over the green monster for months now. I made it my goal to try this weekend after grocery shopping. I got the amazing grass stuff and protein to add to it since i'm veggie now and lacking in the protein department. so...was it really yummy? did you add flax seed? yours looks delish...i've definitely seen some not so delish ones before.
