So I have been absent from the Blogosphere for awhile...the kids got sick, then they got sick again, and just as our weather changes and gets cooler, they may be getting sick yet AGAIN. My kids are mini-men so they are extremely high maintenance when they're sick. :o/
Anyway, yesterday everyone was feeling well, so I decided to participate in a little retail therapy after we picked Noah up from school. Retail therapy always makes everyone feel good, right? :)
I told myself I would never ever fall prey to the skinny jeans trend for two reasons: 1) they looked funny and 2) I was NOT skinny so I had no business wearing skinny jeans. Well, never say never because I am on my 3rd pair of skinny jeans. :) I am pleasantly surprised by how they make me look, and they are the perfect jeans to wear with flipflops. :) I have 2 kids so no high-end jeans for me...I got a pair from Old Navy yesterday for less than $30. :) I own another Old Navy pair and a pair from the Gap...LOVE them! Before this year I hadn't really bought any new jeans, and had been wearing the ones I've had since 2005. I thought they looked ok until Babydaddy informs me they look "a little dated." WTF?! Dated?! Oh hell to the no...I went out and bought me some new jeans after that and am glad I did. :)
After the jeans, I was on the look-out for some new sunglasses. I tend to have a certain style of sunglasses that I stick with: black, oversized and wrap-around. I currently wear Von Zipper Debutantes, which I adore...they fit perfectly. They're a classic style so I can wear them forever. Since I tend to buy sunglasses that are classic and I can wear forever, I don't mind the expense. But lately I've been eyeing more trendy styles, like the Von Zipper Trudies. But because they ARE trendy and might not be in style next year, or even next season, I couldn't bring myself to spend the extra $$$ on designer sunglasses. So, imagine my delight when I spot my ever-so-stylish girlfriend KCB in a pic wearing very similar shades...I ask her where she got them and she tells me TARGET! Yay! I love being a frugalista. ;) I got these shades from Target (below), only in black. Can't beat $12.99! :)

So in addition to my jeans, I have been looking for a new bag to tote my kids' stuff in. YES...I said it. I can't seem to find the perfect bag. Nothing is convenient enough, or organized enough, small enough, big enough, whatever. I even tried carrying around a big purse and putting their stuff in it, but without the organizational compartments of a traditional diaper bag, I was fishing around for things and sippy cups were leaking in my designer purses. I needed a medium-sized bag with lots of organization, pockets for sippy cups, and interior pockets for my stuff. I read a review on the Petunia Picklebottom touring tote and thought it might be right up my alley. :) That, and another one of my fabulous girlfriends MRG has one and loves her's. :) These PPB touring totes can be pricey, but I was lucky to find one on sale, so I saved a buck or two...plus got free shipping. :) Can't wait til it gets here!!

Bummer. I wish I had known you were in the market for PPB Touring Tote. I did not like mine at all and ended up leaving it at my mom's house when we PCS'd. I would have asked her to send it to you. I hope you have better luck with it than I did. I thought it was too small for mine and the kiddo's stuff. :(
I'm in the market for some new jeans...gonna check out those skinny styles from ON. :) They look like they'd be cute with ballet flats, too.
Nice. A girlfriend and I went "clinton and stacy" on another friend, i.e., took her shopping. She's a twig. Seriously, sometimes size 0 looks too big on her. And, I have to tell you the skinny jeans did not look good on her. I think that you need to have a little junk in the trunk for them to look right. I just bought my first pair from Zara...the problem is that my quads are so big that the pants that fit my quads are too big in the waist. Argh.
