Step away from the scale...

I made a mistake by stepping on the scale today. It had been a good two weeks, and in keeping with everyone's Wednesday Weigh-Ins, I decided to give it a shot. Yeah. Um, no. I should have known better. I mean, just coming off vacation and a month long hiatus from exercise, as well as it being my PMS week, I knew it was not going to be pretty. And it wasn't. I am a whopping 5 lbs heavier than when I left for vacay 2 weeks ago. But I'm not discouraged. I actually feel good about getting back into the gym and running again...the weight gain did, however motivate me to have a healthy lunch since last night's dinner wasn't so much. :p

I had a little bowl of fruit: seedless watermelon (still holding onto summer...not. LOL) and some grapes...quite a refreshing mix. :)

I also made a wrap using a whole wheat tortilla, Laughing Cow cheese, some spring mix salad greens, and chicken breast...
A delicious combo indeed, and just what I needed today...

I woke up this morning feeling every muscle in my body, from my quads, to my calves, every back muscle and even my abs. It was glorious. :) I welcome that kind of pain. I hit the gym again today for a little cardio sesh: 35 minutes all together...25 minute treadmill intervals (2 min. running, 30 sec. walking) and 10 minutes on the elliptical. I burned 367 calories total. Tomorrow I think I'm going to do a weight-training circuit on my own. I used to be big into the weights before I had kids, doing a lot of the exercises with free weights, but I have since moved away from that, sticking to classes (Bodypump) or dvds (Jillian Michael's). I think I'll bring along either the Making the Cut book (by JM) or the Body for Life book to guide me. Should be interesting!
Well, it is wonderful naptime for Caleb right now, then off to Pensacola again to pick up Noah...talk to you all soon! Enjoy your day!
