TGIF! :)

Hey folks...sorry for the lack of posts this week. It was pretty hectic the first half of the week, and has thankfully slowed down these last 2 days. I kept Noah from school yesterday and today due to his phlemy cough and runny nose. While it sure hasn't broken his spirit, I was scared being around other kids might 1) exacerbate his condition, and 2) spread to the other kids. So he's stayed home the past 2 days. I find that lazy, unscheduled days can be good for the soul. :) Especially when those days are rainy, like today. Here's a picture right before the rain hit...the sky was an eerie hue, but I don't think I captured that with my camera...My first part of the morning has been spent looking for birthday presents for my soon-to-be four-year-old!! I know this is going to sound very cliche, but I feel like I just had him yesterday! I ordered some pretty exciting stuff, including a Disney Cars personalized lunchbox & backpack (I have since gotten smart and started personalizing with our last name only so that things can be used by BOTH boys. *wink*), and a cool Lightning McQueen t-shirt. :) Target is also having a sale on Cars toys, so I'll be heading over there to stock up for Noe's birthday AND Christmas. :) Thankfully both boys love Lightning McQueen...makes shopping easier. ;)
I have nothing planned for this morning but to read some more of my book: The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith. I finished the first book in the series (there are 4 in all so far, with more to come), The Awakening, and while it was an easy read, I have mixed feelings about it. There are parts that I like, and there are parts that I don't care for. While Stephanie Meyer's Twilight was written for the young adult set, it was written in a mature voice; The Vampire Diaries are clearly written for who it was intended for: young adults. I'll finish the series because I started it, but so far I don't really recommend it.
Oh and in other news...anyone digging my new template? I gotta give props to Simply Fabulous Blogger Templates for letting me use it...I love the orange and green. :) I also changed the layout of my 101 in 1001 blog...that layout was courtesy of Aqua Poppy Designs. What can I say? I'm fickle and get tired of one look quickly. :)
